Long Hiatus

I've been on a long hiatus from this blog. The good news is, however, it isn't because I haven't been keeping myself active. I've just been crazy busy doing other things work and personal life related.

I'm hoping to post here every once in a while just to keep track of where I am.

So what have I been up to, physically? Well I've definitely been running a lot more than I have in my entire life. I can't say that I really enjoy running, but it does make me feel good after I've done it. The one thing I've noticed, though, is that my performance on the treadmill is really hit or miss. Take this past Thursday, I got up on that thing and pounded out 2.5 miles in 20 minutes without stopping, no problem. Today, Saturday, I couldn't bring myself to run for more than a half mile at a time.

Maybe my inconsistency has to do with when I time my eating and exercise, or maybe I'm dehydrated. I was really well hydrated on Thursday, and I used my inhaler before my workout. I can't say the same for today.

I've also been neglectful about stretching. I was so sore yesterday and today from running, leg lifts, push ups, etc. I spent some extra time stretching today, and I think I'll keep it up. I already feel less tight and tired.

Since I last blogged I think I've lost some weight. I definitely wear smaller clothing now. I'm a whole pant size smaller than I was back in January. I haven't been paying close attention, but I think the last time I had a physical I was 142 lbs. (ish) I was closer to the 150 area about 6 months ago. I don't care too much about my actual weight, but it might be a good way to gauge my health. I've gone back on BC for health related reasons, and I'm a little worried it's going to cause me to gain some of my weight back. Maybe just hopping on the scale in the locker room every other week will keep me informed.
